Wanda's Diary Entries

Today—Oct. 2, 2005—is the day that our show makes its primetime debut here in our home state, North Carolina. Last year, season one of SIMPLE LIVING ran at 10 a.m. on Saturday mornings. That was a good time slot, but lots of folks told me that they were out by 10 a.m. on Saturday morning: mowing the lawn, raking leaves, shopping, working or exercising. So they missed it. Frank, Bob, Emily and I—all of us here at the Simple Living office—are thrilled by our new time slot. We believe we’ll reach a much wider audience with our message of simplicity. We salute our friends at UNC-TV for giving us
this great platform. In fact, we received a lovely congratulatory letter
from general manager Tom Howe just today!
Though we’ve seen show one in the series many times in various states of its being edited, there’s something magical about turning on the television and watching the show when the rest of the state is watching it, with the UNC-TV logo on the lower right hand side. Tonight we’ll break out the popcorn and maybe a little bubbly!
