Mother just moved a week ago. It was not a drastic move by any means, but any move is a big deal for an octogenarian. She moved from the fourth to the third floor of the Renfro Lofts Building in downtown Mount Airy. Mama’s main motivation for the move was for the large deck that her previous condo did not have. It’s a room-size deck and will now be her perch on the outdoors. She was able to reclaim a bamboo settee set that had been languishing since 2001 at an orchard storage shed to enjoy some outdoor time. I can already picture her drinking coffee and reading the paper out there. I think this should provide cheer to her days, and I’m all behind the move. Also, she’s got lots of extra space and is always willing to put up personal friends of ours – and guests!
