Wanda's Diary Entries
Thursday, November 17, 2005
This past weekend, Frank, Henry and I took a hike at the orchard. We hiked up a trail that Frank had built in my honor more than a decade ago called “Wanda’s Loop.” It was the most wonderful hour of the weekend, with a late fall and trees still shedding leaves. Frank patiently explained to Henry the names of all the trees: beech, black birch, oak, maple, and others. The two laid on the ground under the tall trees exclaiming at their height and majesty. Henry drank in every moment on the trail.
We can all take time to notice the trees and leaves falling around us. Go out alone, take a friend or walk with a child. Your life will be richer for it.
