The roof is leaking here at the Simple Living office to the point where we’re covering our computers in tarp at nights and putting plastic trashcans up on tables to catch the leak. Emily’s desk is bearing the brunt of this storm and last week, she started wearing a rain slicker to work. This has been going on a couple of weeks, and it’s starting to grate on our nerves. This nuisance has been compounded by problems with the commode flushing for even longer. As the saying goes, when it rains, it pours. But confronting this kind of nuisance should remind us how minor such matters really are in the big scheme of things. It should remind us of the blessings we do have: a roof over our heads, the modern comforts of electricity, power, computers, copiers and fax machines. It should remind us of the “big picture”: the opportunity to produce the SIMPLE LIVING series.
